Dr. Gerszten is a staff Radiation Oncologist at VAPHS. She graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1988 and completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at the same institution in 1992. While at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) from 1992 until 2007 she served as director of Radiation Oncology at Magee Women’s Hospital and was an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. She provided coverage for radiation oncology at VAPHS since its initiation in 1995 and joined the VAPHS staff in 2009.

Dr. Gerszten had previously served as the Principle Investigator for Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) trials at UPMC and initiated membership in RTOG at VAPHS in 2011. She is currently the Principal Investigator on VAPHS’s RTOG trials.
