Dr. Suda’s research focus includes pharmacoepidemiology, especially around antimicrobials and dual use of VA and non-VA health care. Currently, she is researching drug shortages and the impact of health policy. Her current research also includes evaluating appropriate prescribing nationally using population-level datasets, effectiveness of health policy in acute care and outpatient settings, and trends in prescription drug expenditures. As a former medication use policy administrator, she has significant experience implementing pharmaceutical policy locally, including identifying drug shortages likely to have a clinical impact and selection of therapeutic alternatives.
Dr Suda is the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System’s 2023 recipient of the Investigator Excellence in Research Award and the 2022 Pittsburgh Federal Executive Board Excellence in Government Award – Contribution to Science and has published more than 250 publications including book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, and case reports.
Dr. Suda received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Drake University and her Master of Science in Epidemiology from University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
